The Welcome Program for Newcomers (WPNEW) initiated by the Cameroonian Canadian Association of Calgary (CCAC) has started in early 2022 and aims to help with new and most effective ways, black newcomer to better and faster integrate in Calgary and Surrounding areas.

The project has been structured around four areas: Overseas Outreach, Welcome and Pick-up at the Airport, Job search, Project management.

Newcomer Outreach

One registry of immigration firm in Cameroon has been created in the context of the program, for the purpose of reaching out to newcomers prior to their arrival.

Airport pick-up and welcoming of Newcomers

Volunteers are always available for the welcome and pickup activity at the Calgary Airport.

House Search Assistance

Volunteers are always generous to offer help on accommodation search, which include sharing house for rent advertising on our social platforms.

Job Search Assistance, Career coaching and Mentoring

Volunteers are always ready to help on job hunting, which include jobs information, resumes reviews, interview mockups, jobs referrals, etc.

Culture bridge and integration

We recognize the challenges faced by most immigrants as they leave their entire lives behind and immigrate to a new country with new societal habits, cultures, and norms. We provide an environment where the beneficiaries can learn about the new culture while still enjoying the full benefit of their roots.
