CULTURAL HERITAGE PROGRAMS

We promote and sustain the Cameroonian Culture to enrich our society, through presentations of specifics from our different tribes, such as history, food, fashion, dance, music and others. The Cultural Heritage Program is open to everyone to better understand different cultures from different perspectives, and to provide a forum for learning about Cameroon and Cameroonian affairs. The goal for this program is also to promote friendship, education, economic, social and cultural relations between members and non-members.

SOCIAL PROGRAMS

The Social Program has been initiated to promote social involvement of the Cameroonian-Canadian community to the Canadian society. The Social Program has provided safety kits and made courtesy phone calls during COVID-19 Crisis and has participated in City of Calgary City clean-ups yearly to help keep the city clean and safe for everyone, among other things.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS - ccac tutoring program

We take pride in guiding the next generation of Cameroonian-Canadians in ensuring they make an effective contribution to the Canadian society, through mentoring. We partnered with Aspen Family and 1000 Voices. The program is open to all the children from grades 1 to 12 and follows Alberta’s education curricula, and offers bilingual (French and English) lessons to everyone.

WELCOME PROGRAM FOR NEWCOMERS (WPNEW / PANARr)

The Welcome Project for Newcomers (WPNEW) initiated by the Cameroonian Canadian Association of Calgary (CCAC) started in early 2022 and aims to help with new and most effective ways, for black newcomers to better and faster integrate in Calgary and surrounding areas.

Since its creation, we have mobilized over 30 volunteers (more than 3000 volunteer hours) around 5 departments: a) Overseas outreach, b) Welcome and pick-up at the airport, c) Job search and Professional career, d) House search, and e) Culture bridge and integration.

In that quest, we have organized and managed about 10 specialized social media platforms created and used to share useful and valuable information with beneficiaries and to create a network of resources.
